The
International Specialized meeting on Family Law
(A Comparative Study of Family Laws in
I. R. Iran and some other Islamic Countries)
«وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا
لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً
إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ»، الروم (30):
21.
And of His Signs is that He has created
for you spouses ,from your own species ,That you may live with
them in peace ,And He has put between your hearts love and
merciful kindness; Herein are Signs in fact for the people who
reflect ( Holy Qur'an -30:21)
Family, the most fundamental and loved human structure in God's
view, leads human beings to peace and tranquility. The excessive
amount of Quran verses and Tradition of holy Prophet Mohammad
(p.b.u.h.) on family issues reveals the importance of family in
Islam. Each one of Muslim countries, to some extent, has enacted
laws and considered issues on family relations due to its needs
and necessities. Since the laws in Muslim countries are mainly
based on Islamic sources, they share many common points,
especially on family laws.
The importance and sanctity of family calls for more
comprehensive and practical laws on family side so that they may
fulfill the goals Islam has sought. Therefore, to enact
appropriate laws we need a comparative study of other nations'
laws and experiences.
To review the laws and documentation of I.R. Iran and some other
Islamic countries, experts and scholars from around the world
will gather in an "International Specialized
meeting of Family Law," which will be held in Tehran in
February 2009. We hope the meeting would be one
step forward to reach the following goals:
 |
To strengthen and make
the views on family law closer |
 |
To converge the laws and
regulations on family |
 |
To introduce the ways for
strengthening the families |
 |
To benefit from the
experiences of other Muslim countries in family law |
The agenda of the meeting follows these points:
 |
A major and general
attitude toward family law |
 |
Husband and Wife
Relations |
 |
Children rights in the
family |
 |
Legal proceedings of
Family actions |
|
